CRC Publication for March 1997

The Catholic Counter-Reformation in the XXth Century began its life in February 1970 as the English language version of La Contre-Réforme Catholique au XXe Siècle.

In December 2000, following the publication of the Third Secret of Fatima, the Abbé de Nantes decided to change the title of his monthly journal from The Catholic Counter-Reformation in the XXth Century to Resurrection and then finally to He is Risen! In doing so, he wished to affirm his faith and his assurance in a renaissance of the Church in accordance with the promises that Our Lady of Fatima gave to us: « In the end My Immaculate Heart will triumph. »

It carries articles by the Abbé de Nantes and his community on theology, philosophy, sacred history, the lives of the saints, spirituality, and critiques of the conciliar revolution's latest developments. It also contains several special studies, notably those devoted to Our Lady of Fatima and the Holy Shroud of Turin.

For those who can read French without difficulty, it would probably be best to subscribe to the original French edition, La Contre-Réforme Catholique au XXIe Siècle, since the work involved in translating the text into English can lead to a delay of several months. In addition, not all the articles found in the French journal are translated into English.

In addition to the French and English editions there is also a bi-monthly edition in Dutch, De Katholieke Contrareformatie in De XXste Eeuw, and a monthly supplement to the French edition from the community in Canada, La Renaissance Catholique, Bulletin de la Communion Phalangiste au Canada.

The following table lists the subscription costs for each language edition. Note that, depending on the edition required and your location in the world, one of four possible order methods should be followed. Full details of these four methods are listed immediately below the following table.

In 1973 the translation work was taken up by David Boyce who dedicated himself to it until he died in January 2000.

Back issues of the Catholic Counter-Reformation are available as paperback annual volumes. They range from the first volume of 1970 to the latest volume of 2000.

Apparitions at Medjugorje, a set of articles written by Brother Michael of the Holy Trinity between 1984 and 1988, which conclusively prove that these alleged Marian apparitions do not come from Heaven and are in fact wholly antithetical to the message of Our Lady of Fatima.     The first edition of La Contre-Réforme Catholique au XXe Siècle (CRC) was published in October 1967. However, it was not a wholly  new publication, but rather the re-christened successor of a previous publication by the Abbé de Nantes, Lettres à mes amis, a series of letters, begun in 1956 and addressed to the rapidly growing circle of his spiritual sons and daughters.

Over the eleven years of their life, these Letters gradually came to focus on defending the Catholic faith against the errors of the Vatican II Reformation, a “reformation” far more disastrous for the Church than its predecessor in the 16th century. Hence the change of name in 1967 to The Catholic Counter-Reformation in the 20th Century.

The CRC, therefore, effectively pre-dates Vatican II, and is the only Catholic journal to have consistently opposed the Council's “progressivist” errors before, during, and after its four sessions (1962-1965). Its penetrating observations and the purity of its Catholic faith have been the inspiration – albeit infrequently acknowledged – of much other traditionalist Catholic literature.

For those who can read French without undue difficulty, all the previous issues of the La Contre-Réforme Catholique au XXe siècle are available as annual volumes in either hardback or paperback. They range from Volume 1 beginning in October 1967 to Volume 32 for 2000.

To order: Readers in America and Canada should write to the Canadian monastery whose address is listed above under payment method 3 or alternatively contact them by fax on (819) 539 2093. Volumes are priced at $ 12 paperback or $ 25 hardback (Canadian dollars), but please do not send any money until you have received the invoice.

Other readers may prefer to write to the French community whose addressed is listed above under payment method 2. Volumes are priced at 60 FF paperback and 150 FF hardback.

LETTRES À MES AMIS

I

Directions spirituelles
Méditations
Le mystère de l'Église et l'Antichrist (1-25)

Lettres 1 à 110
1956 - 1962

The Lettres à mes amis are a collection of 252 letters that the Abbé de Nantes wrote to his spiritual sons and daughters between October 1956 and September 1967. In October 1967 they were succeeded by the publication of La Contre-Réforme Catholique au XXe siècle. Unlike the latter, they are in the form of a private correspondence and were not published at fixed periodic intervals.

These Letters cover the period of the Second Vatican Council as well as the years immediately preceding and following it. It is remarkable to behold the perspicacity with which the Abbé de Nantes confronts the problems of the day as soon as they arise: the sinister growth of preconciliar progressivism, the betrayal of Algeria, the spiritual battle for the soul of the Church during the Council, and the gradual revelation of Pope Paul VI's real mind.

To date these Letters are only available in French. They have been gathered together in four volumes, which can be individually purchased in either hardback or paperback.

In order to help you choose those volumes of interest to you, view the Summary of the Lettres à mes amis. This contains a summary of their content in French plus an English translation of an overview of them presented by the Abbé de Nantes to Cardinal Ottaviani in 1966.
