WE ARE ALL… ANGLICANS !
In his commentary on the decree on ecumenism, Unitatis Redintegratio, the Abbé de Nantes writes in the chapter on “cooperation with the separated brothers” (§ 12):
One would believe that there was a stream of light and life that descends from Heaven and renews the whole earth. I leave it to your shrewdness to discover that it is no longer « Catholic doctrine » or even « fundamental Christian Faith », but the most powerful gnosis that Satan has ever inspired in men, and not the least among them, the bishops of the Council and Popes themselves. From level to level, this stream spreads smoothly and without eddies… it is the marvellous faith of all Christians. It is given as a new, young, enthusiastic, conquering, and universal Creed:
12. « Before the whole world let all Christians confess their faith in the triune God, one and three, in the incarnate Son of God, our Redeemer and Lord. United in their efforts, and with mutual respect, let them bear witness to our common hope that does not play us false. »
Such are the « principles of Christian Faith », “a common resource”, if ever there was one! Such is the effort that was decided on in the Council and that is very close to succeeding – to reconcile and rule the 359 sects that are already united in the wwc, which, in reality is in terminal decline – witness their financial bankruptcy – but above all, with them the Catholic Church finally integrated on equal terms with each of the other slices of this cake, a strict equality that could even require a certain precautionary and voluntarily discrete inferiority.
« In these days when cooperation in social matters is so widespread, all men without exception are called to work together, with much greater reason all those who believe in God, but most of all, all Christians in that they bear the name of Christ (sic). »
Having discovered the substance of this « utopia » or internationalist « gnosis », I greeted this « common work » of all human beings by its real name: « universal democracy ». When I saw the enthusiasm that was unleashed in all « Christian » countries for this new form of existence, I rapidly came to see their haste to group themselves and to fuse into one single and vast entity that would be the « leader » of the enormous soulless body of a humanity that is irremediably losing its boundaries, its national particularities, and its folkloric religions. « Christians », for whom humility is not the dominant virtue, given their number, their degree of “culture”, and their financial, industrial and technocratic power, take advantage of the exceptional value of their religion to demand the function of « spiritual leader » of this « universal democracy » that was to be born, or that already was born: masdu.
Nota bene. You will remark the crescendo, not quantitative but qualitative, which makes us pass from « all men without exception » to their better part:« … with much greater reason all those who believe in God »and once again to the elite of the latter: « … but most of all, all Christians in that they bear the name of Christ (an ornamental motif?! but let us not go into that). »
At this point, another qualitative escalation was expected from the conciliar Fathers, of the following type: « Finally, among these sham Christians for whom Christ and His cross are pure ornaments without a real death of the old pagan nor resurrection of the new man of justice and holiness, will be distinguished the Catholics who are ready to sacrifice their life for the salvation of the world, at the appeal of the Pope, the vicar of Jesus Christ, and sure of the final victory that is promised to them… »
I was awaiting this « confession of [Catholic] Faith », the basis of the only possible « unity » that lasts, which is already established and which is the driving nucleus of future Unity, on the lips of our holy bishops and the Holy Father of this sacrosanct Council. All I see here is its absence, and I conclude that it is the hour of darkness and the denial of Peter, not to mention of the « apostolic College ».
The confession of Christian Faith continues its majestic development, but it is no longer Catholic, either in form or substance; it is no longer even the expression of the “orthodox” faith, which is itself schismatic but much superior to this conciliar stew! On that day, in those years, our great Council became Protestant. The very expression « confession of Christian faith » is the signature of the victors. Thus, there is no surprise in reading the grand projects and the ultimate ends of this “Movement for the Spiritual Animation of Universal Democracy”, or masdu. Read it:
« Cooperation among Christians vividly (they are beginning to wake up!) expresses the relationship which in fact already unites them (?), and it sets in clearer relief (?) the features of Christ the Servant. »
Here, we are suddenly very attentive. It is true; it is enticing, this sudden emergence of the inner Mystery of Christ, the « Servant of Yahweh », the « suffering Servant » of the Second Isaiah, the sublime secret of Jesus, which is reserved to His perfect disciples. We are all eyes and all ears in order to know « the way, the truth, the life » where the Council leads us following the crucified Lord… and the hope mentioned by it « which does not play us false » (at the beginning of this § 12).
As disciples of « Christ the Servant », we are impatient to know whom we should serve, in what to serve, with a view to what happiness, what good « in Him, by Him and for Him », Jesus Christ:
« This cooperation, which has already begun in many countries, should be developed more and more, particularly in regions where a social and technical evolution is taking place be it in a just evaluation of the dignity of the human person, the establishment of the blessings of peace, the application of Gospel principles to social life, the advancement of the arts and sciences in a truly Christian spirit (sic!), or also (!) in the use of various remedies to relieve the afflictions of our times such as famine and natural disasters, illiteracy and poverty, housing shortage and the unequal (oh! oh! if you had said: “unjust”, all right… but “unequal!”) distribution of wealth. »
There it is! Is this all? We are agreed on this accumulation of services to be rendered, on condition that we select among so many commitments those that come from a real human and Christian justice and charity, and those that come from philanthropy, Socialism, or materialism… for there are in this statement the worst and the best. Thus, we agree on the services, but as means with a view to what end, what happiness, what peace?
The answer is accusatory. They did not even pay attention, yet, they were seen leaving, from the first lines, towards the cataracts where all the boats would be shattered, they and their works, and their clients. I explain because the brainwashing is such that I fear not being understood in the face of their « obvious facts », and of their even more « luminous facts »; I will reel off my pure and simple truth, which is not some fact, but Christian, Catholic Faith, thus divine fact.
First, here is the total bankruptcy of the system, as one might say to someone leading the investigation into a nasty affair of malfeasance:
« Well, tell us why you kept yourself at the head of this organisation for research and assistance in the fight against cancer for seventeen years?
– Sir, it is my entire life! I drew millions from it. It is my house in Paris, my twelve villas in the provinces, my yacht, my assets in Switzerland, my wife’s property, and the fortune of my two daughters... »
The examining magistrate is flabbergasted…
So am I. Just listen:
« Through this cooperation, all believers in Christ can easily (!) be led to acquire a better knowledge and appreciation of one another, and so pave the way to Christian unity. »
The proof of this is that our mixed Catholic – Protestant, encounters for young men and women have an excellent atmosphere that is favourable to promising mixed marriages. I have added this; you noticed the difference in style. But it is to make the indecency and the insanity of the thing better understood.
These Christians engage in so many philanthropic actions without caring a fig about the real life of their protégés, their moral state, their religion, in short their eternal life! They themselves get together. They make a thousand plans for action; they mobilise Christians from the whole world; they evoke and invoke Jesus Christ, the Servant of Yahweh, the Crucified, in order to recruit personnel; and together what will they do? Will they suffer persecution; give all of their time, all of their belongings? Of course not – they will chatter, complement and hug and kiss one another in order to make unity advance. Thus, they can, I have just quoted you these disgusting words, « easily be led to acquire a better knowledge and appreciation of one another » under the lame pretext that is their entire hunger and their goal, « and so pave the way to Christian unity ».
Well! I, the deputy examining magistrate, I accuse them of possession of stolen goods and misuse of company property. They take advantage of the Catholic faithful whom they have board their galley in the rank of convicts. They misuse the institutions of the Church, the collections that fall into their pockets, the great expenditures for religious manifestations that have no other goal than their vanity and their living standards. And the supreme social good, Jesus Christ Himself? Him they share out in an entirely conniving solidarity among the different players of this mime show of all sorts of sects and communions, Him they share out, but it is He whom they all betray in this way. There, I have said it! It is up to the great Judge in Rome to continue the trial or to adjourn it. At his hour, or at the hour of God, it will be necessary that the Holy Catholic Church be rehabilitated, restored, and that all these sects, including the conciliar one be ignored. Then, we will see with amazement, as it is already seen in Don Bosco’s dream, the immense multitude of the humble, the poor, the lost, the misfits from all the sects and communities, silently join the glorious procession of the New Jerusalem entering into Rome, now found converted!
Re-read this “confession”, which is as sincere as it can be. I will condemn the Council for possession of stolen goods and misuse of the supreme common good: God. It is grand simony, a very big “racket”, but that is what it is! – and the main thing is to succeed. At all costs, succeed. This § 12 is, in fact, the conclusion of the entire theoretical and practical study of the ways of ecumenism by the Council.
Now, the first part of this study opened a Hegelian-type synthesis; thus it was very idealistic, unreal and characterised by its subjective will or sentiments. The thesis is Catholic truth, which offers no other solution than the conversion of non-Catholics. The antithesis sets out the equal value of the various Churches and their conceptions; one must find among these conceptions a manner of co-existence, of imperfect union: ecumenism holds the field pending an improbable, inconceivable synthesis.
The second part is Marxist: this dialectical synthesis must be implemented, and it will come about as we advance. It is easy; the history of divisions is detailed without analysing their dogmatic causes and great events; they are like trains that travel in convoy on parallel tracks: we could jump tracks and substitute love for hatred, dialogue and sympathetic cooperation for wars, for trials of the Inquisition. Whatever the theological differences may be, we will get along better.
All the more will this be so because with frequent repetition the idea is forced on us that the world is uniting, that it is moving away from religions, and that soon their outdated mosaic will come to an end, like that of nations, sects and cultures. Then it will be the Spirit, who governs the universe, who will do us the grace of shaking us and forcing us to make a success of ecumenism, by reducing these 360 sects to one single « Christian » religion.
He will help men to construct the new city by giving it highly human principles, like the model of the « civilisation of love », whose innermost mainspring in the hearts of Christians will be faith in Christ and in His love.
There remains to be considered our partners, in this perspective of “professional winegrowers.” In order to survive, they are forced to seek a basis, common ground, and to make an effort for everyone to sacrifice to it his own particular interests. The goal is to seal a solid, salutary agreement among the three blocks: Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox, all three of which have decided to negotiate and to make this work. Now, it is high time to note that it is the Church alone who built up this project of a viable ecumenism. The Church is sovereign and armed with her “notes” or eminent properties of unity, holiness, Catholicity and apostolicity; she could have yielded nothing but points of detail and demanded a fundamental conversion by her partners, either through individual returns or community returns, without a decree, coercion, or collective pressure. The Church did not do so because a different will prevailed.
We have been unable not to notice that – undoubtedly out of kindness and in order to achieve success! – in everything and at all times, the Council posed as the prosecutor, the accuser, or at least the caustic critic of the Catholic Church. It counted on a « permanent reform » that would improve her in its eyes and before the world, which has been justly scandalised by her many faults! This would as though necessarily satisfy the other interested parties. No effort is demanded from the latter; no criticism is directed at them. They are not studied, nor are they living and speaking. The longer this silence lasts, the more the Council anticipates claims or supposed desires. In the end, these inscrutable human blocks have not budged. It is impressive; the Church has descended incrementally so far from her original lofty position that she will end up converting in order to become Anglican or to merge with this “Church” that is so close, that it will no longer surprise anyone.
Then, the Council thought it would be good to speak well of these future reunited brothers. The bride will never be too beautiful for her wedding day! Likewise, the ecumaniacs decided to entice us, to appeal to us by means of the perfections of these heresies and schisms, taking care – out of charity or out of necessity? – to remain silent about the rest, which is all the truth, alas! the reality about them that God, the Church and His saints always abhor.
When this last chapter is analysed, something will seem obvious to us: the way that our Holy Church of the past, the Church of old and of all time was betrayed by a band of swindlers who work for the World, for honours, and the goods of the earth, at the high price of damning souls and incurring the Wrath of God.
