THE SECOND VATICAN COUNCIL

PASTORAL CONSTITUTION ON THE CHURCH
IN THE MODERN WORLD (3)

GAUDIUM ET SPES
(7 décembre 1965)

BY THE ABBÉ DE NANTES

ASSISTANCE THAT THE CHURCH RECEIVES IN THE WORLD OF TODAY

« O admirabile commercium ! » the Church exclaims in her liturgy of the Nativity of the Lord; and of just what « commerce » is it a question? She sings with a chaste jubilation: « O admirable exchange, the Creator of the human race, taking upon Himself a body and a soul, has vouchsafed to be born of a Virgin, and without the seed of man, appearing here below as man, has made us partakers of His Divinity. »

What a worthy « mutual penetration » this is, at the beginning of a « commerce » still as pure from the Church’s side, and holy from Christ’s, full of love and a pledge of eternal Life!

Alas, here it is a question of quite another kind of « commerce »! The commerce of this same Church, who has been very fortunate, with what is most contrary to her conjugal fidelity, the world, the Prince of which is Satan in person, inseparable from his legions of demons, of lost men and women, who are devoted to serving him and sharing his pomps, his works, but also his eternal agony.

The Church renewed three times her offers of assistance, to every man (41), to world society (42) and, through Christians, to human activity (navigation) with eagerness (43). She does not want to be thanked. As the depraved Jerusalem in chapter 16 of Ezekiel, she is only too happy to be taken by the world with all her jewellery, her lands, her subjects, her children. Eager to throw herself into its arms, she, on the contrary, thanks it for all the gifts it gives her, at least to her, the modern Church… while forgetting the persecutions of the past, alas! too well-deserved, even provoked by the regrettable conduct by which our Fathers made themselves odious!

44. § 1. « Just as it is in the world’s interest to acknowledge the Church as an historical reality, and to recognise her good influence… » it is insufficient to acknowledge her as a social reality, but to speak of « her influence » is still asking too much of the whole world, which fears neither God nor man! « …so the Church herself knows (they like this stylistic device, and here it serves to say that the present-day Church knows only too well) how richly she has profited by the history and development of humanity. » Thus, what the world gave her appears as vast as the sea, and her gratitude cannot be less than the immensity of the oceans! But search for what « history » and « development » can contribute to an institution. I have no idea, you either, they either! Words can only engender words when these words do not designate beings!

The incoherent demonstration will bring us nothing worthwhile. I recopy it and try to understand it, before confronting it with Jesus’ luminous explanation, and that of His Church herself, regarding « the admirable exchange ». Our most cherished Heavenly Father presides over this « exchange »; He showers upon His Church, through His Son Jesus Christ, all the goods of the universe. He offers her His Way, His Truth, and His Life.

Thus, let us see these beautiful gifts that « the world of today » gives to the Church, who recognises her debt and gives herself passionately to her benefactor.

§ 2. « The experience of past ages (once again the authoritarian tone! here, we go back to the Flood), the progress of the sciences, and the treasures hidden in the various forms of human culture, by all of which the nature of man himself (in passing, you will notice how exclusive and excessive this obsession with man is to the point of choosing to overlook God and His Son Jesus Christ) is more clearly revealed and new roads (what, for example?) to truth are opened, these profit the Church, too. »

For the moment it is nothing, for the contributions that are so vaguely and allusively evoked are characteristic of everyone and anyone, and the members of the Church appear there with honour just as well, and better, I think, than those of the backward or persecuting religions and worlds.

« For (this promises tangible and incontestable proofs), from the beginning of her history (I refrain from interrupting for fear of incurring the reprimand of Dandin in L’Intimé: « You inept advocate! Why do you not let him finish his sentence! » [reference to Jean Racine’s comedy « Les Plaideurs », 17th century.]) she has learned to express the message of Christ with the help of the ideas and terminology of various peoples, (what unexpected and ridiculous sycophancy!) and has tried to clarify it with the wisdom of the philosophers, too (I can demonstrate that it is much more against their wisdom than through it, which is odiously narrow and categorical, that the Church has maintained her faith intact and sovereign, in order to respond to the philosophical heresiarchs). Her purpose has been to adapt the Gospel to the grasp of all as well as to the needs of the learned, insofar as such was appropriate. »

It is exactly the opposite of the truth. The history of dogmas shows that all the heresies have been fomented by boneheaded philosophers, who reduced our mysteries to a few “clear and distinct ideas”. On the other hand, the saints, instead of – as this ineffable Council says – « adapting the Gospel » to the understanding of “ordinary folks” and to the verbosity of the sophists of all times, broke this skimpy system of the « learned » and delighted the souls of the people that were converted to the admirable mysteries revealed by God and offered to our faith.

Do you hear, Fathers? It is the opposite!

Woe is me, what did I say! My excuse is that I had not read in advance what follows: « Indeed (ouch!) this accommodated preaching of the revealed word (before the Council that was characteristic of famous preachers such as Arius, Nestorius, Montanus, Pelagius... and more recently Luther, Calvin... and that is not all: there were also Loisy, Sangnier, Lacordaire, Maritain... without evoking those who survived the Council, Teilhard de Chardin, Lubac, Congar and other country bumpkins who are already forgotten) ought to remain the law of all evangelisation. »

Do you hear this tone? Did you hear Hitler shouting at Nuremberg? I did! This is his tone, and the grotesqueness of his personage.

« For (so, they are going to prove the excellence of the proof with another proof that is better still!) thus the ability to express Christ’s message (we can clearly understand and easily refer to the Gospel, to St. Paul, St. Thomas Aquinas! but the « Christian message » is something else! Fr. Lebbe, a Belgian who became a naturalised Chinese would have said that this message was only to be really understood in his ideograms!) in its own way is developed in each nation, and at the same time there is fostered a living exchange (because… you are against dead exchanges?) between the Church and the diverse cultures of people. » Here once again is this phobia about religion, this obsession with everything that does not belong to it; the conciliar Church really has a psychosis (and so does Satan, who shows the same mania).

From this follow great decisions to accelerate moving specialised personnel and furniture from the Church and her run-down fittings to the house on the other side of the street with red lights that are always turned on.

« To promote such exchange, especially in our days when events change with the utmost speed and modes of thought vary widely » (such a style is very exciting for the born lampoonist! words jar together: idiocy, retorts, bang! bang! it is funny, it is exasperating… but the one who uses retorts resembles a clown: in his innermost being; tears are streaming.) Thus, the Church« requires the special help of those who live in the world, are versed in different institutions and specialties, and grasp their innermost significance in the eyes of both believers and unbelievers. » So, it is time to spend the night away from home in order to live the incomparable experience of nuptials with these experts – with mental forms proper to the epoch. We have already been awaiting this for too long!

« With the help of the Holy Spirit (who is thus made the guarantor for the work that has to be courageously carried through to completion), it is the task of the entire People of God, especially pastors and theologians, to hear (sic!), distinguish and interpret the many voices of our age (!), and to judge them in the light of the divine word (I already do not understand anything in their mumbo jumbo, which is, nonetheless, my mother tongue. So we are to judge the voices of the universe, together with « the entire People of God », what a to-do!), so that revealed truth can always be more deeply penetrated, better understood and set forth to greater advantage. »

All this is worthless, all this is idiotic; and the Council racks its brains in order to find a way to thank the « world » for its good services rendered to the Church, in vain! The « modern world » has never, ever given her anything other than blows, persecutions, hatred, contempt, interdictions, exiles, abductions, plundering such as the worst of pimps does not treat the least of his protégées!

§ 3. « Since the Church has a visible and social structure as a sign of her unity in Christ (once again, they use an authoritarian tone!), she can and ought (I am consumed with curiosity…) to be enriched by the development of human social life (what? What is that?). »

In fact, it is unexpected. But watch out for the « yes… but ! » snare.

« not that there is any lack in the constitution given her by Christ (no! no! It is unthinkable! Christ? Come on now!), but (There it is! It is perfect, perfect, but…) that she can understand it more penetratingly, express it better, and adjust it more successfully to our times. » (the Council always has brainwaves for electric words that unleash sparks with lampoonists: so here, consider and weigh these « adjustments » that have to be hastily brought to Christ’s work – a perfect work by the way! – in order to make it « more successful in our times »! My revolver goes off on its own!)

« Moreover, she gratefully understands that in her community life (ouch!) no less than in her individual sons, she receives a variety of helps from men (ouch! ouch!) of every rank and condition (ouch! ouch! ouch!), for (for it can be demonstrated) whoever promotes the human community (from the other side of the road) at the family level, culturally, in its economic, social and political dimensions, both (sic!), nationally and internationally, such a one, according to God’s design (that each Father of the Council knows by heart), is contributing greatly (which means that if they had the time, they would show you that it is considerable) to the Church as well, to the extent that she depends on things outside herself. »

The end is Gallic. Mrs. What’s-her-name enables all the boarders of the brothel to take advantage of her opulent gains. Now, gifts are at the disposal of her husband and her children: she would not go as far as bringing them to their home! They just need to come beg for them; they will not be turned away!

« Indeed (here, we reach disarming confidences of ingenuousness in vice), the Church admits that she has greatly profited and still profits from the antagonism of those who oppose or who persecute her (oh! oh!). »

A CATECHISM LESSON ON THE MODERN WORLD

The Council was already well advanced. Fr. Congar expressed surprise, concern, in his newspaper… Le Monde, that the “world” was the object of endless discussions, without having begun by defining this assuredly equivocal or plural term. I replied that we had applied ourselves to this (Letter to My Friends no 197, 22 February 1965), and then, neither his attempt at a response nor mine was taken into account. My entire analysis left the question in abeyance so as not to take an advantage over the Council before letting it speak. Nonetheless, I cannot conclude the present critique of the important “dogmatic” or theoretical subdivision of Gaudium et Spes, without elucidating the crux of this question.

1. Under what form of society did Adam and Eve live before sin?

– They lived under the regard of God, their Lord and Father, in accordance with the grace that they received with existence. This “triune” society, or in the form of a “trinity”, was a community from the beginning; it resulted from the work of creation and was organised by the will of God, its legislator. It was an absolute monarchy, which does not mean oppressive, but without the control of another power, and the “Good pleasure” of the Monarch had no need of justifying itself. It was the divine Will! Thus was this “theocracy”.

2. When God defined their role on earth, as being kings and masters of it, how could one have defined its political form?

– « Holy Family » suited it then, and if it had enlarged itself according to God’s order, had populated the earth, had dominated all things, it would have been called the « Holy City » or the « Kingdom of God ».

3. But at that time, the world was created. It was good and thus, if things had continued on, all men coming from God would have remained good; and still today this world remains good and everyone who makes strives to bring it to great perfection works in the sense intended by God in the beginning. Now, you claim that this world for which Jesus did not pray is evil and leads to perdition. The Church is accused of having started hostilities against those who love the world; this great fratricidal war must cease.

– Let us say first that all of creation is good, in itself and in all its parts, and as soon as human beings appeared, all of these goods that were placed at the disposition of men were called “world”, or “cosmos”, a Greek word that indicates the extent to which the whole of this creation was well ordered, to the service and according to the needs and pleasures of the human beings whom God had placed there, making them king and queen of this earth. If we recall that the Son of God was already its eternal King, we would be able to say mystically that it was already, as “Christendom” would be later on, a system of government of which Jesus Christ is the King and the human sons of God are the subjects. Yes, such will be the Church; and the families, cities, nations, and empires that will be entirely submitted to Christ will form “Christendom”. It will once again be a question as it was in the earthly Paradise of being fruitful and filling the earth, and of using all its goods to live and be happy, but in accordance with the law of God become the Gospel.

4. Then, where is this evil world that you seem to hate? From where does it come? What does it want? What do you hold against it so spitefully?

– The answer is rarely the one that I am going to give you; it is, however, clear and decisive. One day, during Adam’s nap, Satan, under the skin of a serpent came to tempt Eve. It was a brief « dialogue », it was a short-lived « association », already well established on the great principles of dignity, equality, the rights of human, divine, or diabolical Persons, all the same; and the right of insurrection against Authority if it does not consent. Eve and the Serpent are the “World” who oppose God and Adam, who is sleeping the sleep of the just in his filial obedience… a figure of “Christendom”. So, the Holy City, the Kingdom of God, Christendom is the whole of all the isolated persons (they hardly exist), family, urban, industrial, agricultural, tribal, or national families who recognise that everything comes from God, everything is good, everything is given to them, except the Devil, the Devil’s criminal plans, the perverted, malicious, and harmful practices that the Devil prescribes to his partisans. Where the Devil and his henchmen are obeyed, a solidarity is formed that is not in accordance with the divine order of Creation: it is the kingdom of Satan, the “world” of darkness that fights against Heaven and its earthly manifestation, which is the Church.

But the Church, an earthly community that recognises Jesus Christ for her Saviour, her sovereign legislator, and her King, is “Christendom”.

5. So, here we are with three “worlds” instead of a single one!

– Yes, it is true, but originating from a single one: the natural world, the immense creation of things and living beings, and human beings, all these odds and ends from which each individual draws his subsistence. Everything is good, and often very good. This is what the Council repeats in and out of season, but each time in order to praise the people on the opposing side, and to criticise our Church and her Christendom that saw evil everywhere…

6. So, is the Church for or against the World?

– The created world is entirely good. The Church authorises its use, but for our good. It is like a supermarket: take all that you want, pay, and thank you! Immediately a hoodlum approaches a kid and says to him: You see this car, isn’t it the finest one that you’ve seen? Get in. The motor is running, you just have time to make off with it, and it’s yours. Here is a fine « association » characteristic of the modern world: a tempter, a sinner, and a stolen object… The family community that, absent this “theft”, would have gone for a fine car ride that afternoon, is annoyed; the family of the little thief is anxious to see that he has passed over from Christendom to the rioters of the district, and what can be done?

As for the hoodlum, his vicious passion tends to make him all the more attached to his band and submissive to its laws in an underworld, as his parents, brothers and sisters are faithful to Jesus and Mary.

7. So, why will so many people who read you say that you are “Manichean” or dualist, a fanatic, brutal, as though there were two camps, that of the Devil and that of God…; and that you overlook the billions of people who live between these two camps, as we say in Franglais: the “no man’s land”.

– It is true, you are quite right. We were surprised to read the indictment of the Council against those people, criticising them for their egoism and their materialism, which diverts them from their sublime vocation, their mission of diffusing the Gospel.

8. But even here, you are not in agreement with it. It is enough to make you go mad…

– Yes! That is why I am going to answer in two parts.

a) Even though the great mass of human beings may have had many insights on God, on the goodness and beauty of creation, on the one, true religion, and also experience many temptations from the Devil and his henchmen, these people, out of cowardice, lack of reflection, remain neither on one side or the other (« quite the contrary! » a Swiss from among our friends used to add). Does this mean that they remain in the first world, Creation? Of course not! Christ came to save all men through faith and baptism. The Devil came to snatch them from this grace of infinite mercy and its reward in eternal life. Satan persecutes the disciples of Jesus Christ.

So, the Church deplores the inertia of these masses and she knows that they can only be shaken out of it by saints whose words, example, and miracles would be rousing, or by the natural authorities, blessed and consecrated by the Church, whose duty would be to oblige their children, their servants, their subjects and, for Church authorities, their faithful to follow divine and human laws in the fear of eternal punishments.

The Church is patient, but everyone laments the fact that he himself is not very apostolic, saint, or courageous in working with better zeal for the salvation of souls and nations.

b) The Council, on the contrary, grows impatient at the inertia of these masses. But it also grows impatient at the excessive use of prayers, ceremonies, and devotions of what was called until recently “the elite” of a religious people. What does the conciliar Church seek? She claims to see the loss of interest of the whole world for the Catholic religion of the past, and on the other hand, the invincible attraction that is exercised on these masses that are « dechristianised by the modern world ». She thus refuses to think that Jesus Christ reigns over « the integrist Church » and that « Satan calls the tune » in the « modern world ». She proposes to the men of the Church to preach a more human religion, a more liberal, social Gospel, a democratic Christ in order to bring about the salvation of the masses. It was an attractive proposal for many, and one that no one dared to denounce as a betrayal, an apostasy, a passing over from Christ to Satan. The irritation expressed by the Council (43) can be explained in this way: a fine job would be done…

a) if the Church went a little off its rails to evangelise the masses (so there for us…) and…

b) if the masses came out of their egoism and comfort to think a little about the future of the world!

But, the last explanation: Satan is implacable, and everything that is done to make him reasonable and good, strengthens his power to cause people’s damnation. Jesus is also implacable because He works neither for “unity”, “democracy”, “peace”, nor love between human beings, but for the Glory of His Father, the coming of His Kingdom, that is to say the victory of Christendom, and the filial obedience of the greatest possible number of souls converted to God’s holy Will.

So, the conciliar third party is excluded.

CHRIST ALPHA AND OMEGA.

He is a cheat, the author of these awful, deliberate, conscious and intentional errors, thus of these falsehoods. He thrusts forward a blatant imposture under this title and in accordance with his habit that we have already denounced here several times; and he does so while no one feels up to or dares to dispute his stand from his first sentence.

First, the fundamental law of the logic of discourse is that the orator begins by a term with which everyone is in agreement; the starting point does not provoke any discussion. Then, courtesy loathes booing an orator before having heard him develop his reasons. Thus the Council knows that it will already have won a match that one would have bet was lost in advance, if it dares to bombard « the entire earth » that it addresses; and it dared to do so. Here for example:

45. § 1. « While helping the world and receiving many benefits from it (it is a reference to the four previous articles: she assists, 41-43; she receives, 44), the Church has a single intention: that God’s Kingdom may come, and that the salvation of the whole human race may come to pass. » Who saw? What did he see? It is cunning, it is wily… I think that without a grace of instantaneous insight, I would have seen nothing, thus I would have understood nothing. I would have dropped the book, never ever again to stick my nose back into it. You too? See how insidious it is!

a) I denounce the falsehood. The first words establish a false alternative, a distraction, in order to place a smoke screen over this, the true alternative: will the Church pass over to the service of man and world democracy, or will she remain at the lone and exclusive service of God, of Jesus Christ in accordance with her dogmas, morals, Sacraments, and discipline of all time? This is the essential question to which, in these fifty-five terrifying pages, the conciliar Church answered in favour of the world, of which Satan is the Prince, and in odious disfavour of the Catholic Church of yesterday, of today and of all time. She does not want to be that Church but only to seem so, so as to avoid breaking anything.

b) However, what follows seems to contradict my accusation directly: « the Church has a single intention », this is already reassuring! « … that God’s Kingdom may come », it is the second demand of the Pater, « and that the salvation of the whole human race may come to pass ».

This is a clumsy lie used, repeated a hundred times, but a supreme lie when the poison of the modern gnosis seeps in under the same admirable words from the Church’s sacred language. One would think that he was seeing, as in the old film from my childhood days, the Devil slip into the skin of Garrigou in order to “animate” in his way the three low Masses invented by Alphonse Daudet!

For the Council, « that God’s kingdom may come » means the coming here below – that is the main thing! – of the « civilisation of love », thanks to the “Movement for the Spiritual Animation of Universal Democracy” that is at last off to a good start for the year 2000. « That the salvation of the whole human race may come to pass » means the same because, for the Council, the salvation that matters « above all » today is peace and freedom; it means everything except the Catholic Faith that is bound to Baptism, the Faith followed by putting into practice everything that Jesus has commanded. Re-read Mark 16:16: « Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Good News to all creation. » It is indeed what the Council claims to do, but then one of them is talking nonsense: « He who believes and is baptised will be saved; he who does not believe will be condemned... »

The One who speaks is not a liar. He is Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Judge of tomorrow.

You know that Congar was greatly preoccupied with the new problem that the Council posed because it set up as the ultimate goal of human life, building the beautiful city of its dreams and eternal Life somewhere in God. Now, no being can have two ultimate goals at the same time. Well! They sought and found a solution: one only has to express these two goals with the same word: « salvation ». The same goes for « God’s Kingdom ». The old religion is not changed by it; the new religion earns official recognition thereby. It is clever! Under the same word: God and the Devil.

c) « For… » This « for » is used by the Council to “call off the hounds”. It is we who are the hounds. When the hounds are in pursuit of game, close to reaching it, they are given another kind of meat to catch its scent; they abandon their prey for a dead animal. Here, it is not carrion that is used, but another argument, very convincing as well, but very false. We shall see:

« … every benefit which the People of God during its earthly pilgrimage can offer to the human family stems from the fact that the Church is “the universal sacrament of salvation” (reference to the Constitution on the Church), simultaneously manifesting and exercising the mystery of God’s love for man. »

They want to prove that their devotion to the world falls within the limpid current of pure Catholic virtue. Indeed! The Church of the people that the Council dreams of applies herself to procure all the benefit that it can for « the human family ». We will learn nothing more about this benefit. It is like the benefit offered, for example, by Mother Teresa as she accompanies people dying in Calcutta. People are overcome with admiration…, and one day they learn that she never speaks about baptism or religion. « Every benefit » that she wants to offer them is not to “die with good dispositions”, but to “have good dispositions” for dying. But if you read the sentence without breathing at the last comma, it is another « benefit », a supernatural one that is in question.

In order for you to grasp it, let us read it backwards:

« the Church is the universal sacrament of salvation” » in the sense that, by her lone presence, she « manifests » the marvellous « mystery » of « God’s love for man ». She not only manifests it, she also « exercises it », that is to say, she awakens it in God and gives it to the man whom she encounters. That is clever. Furthermore, it makes superfluous the priestly ministry and every offer for receiving sacraments.

The Church « simultaneously manifests » and « exercises » God’s love for every man.

From this unfortunately untrue affirmation, flows this consequence: the people of God only has to show itself so that in its wake – as in the past in the case of the Lord’s or St. Peter’s shadow – the sick are cured. Thus, « the mystery of God’s love » saves people. Here, it could be thought that it is a question of either eternal salvation put at the disposal of the versatile Church-Sacrament, or of earthly salvation.

I have already denounced this error of the Church-Sacrament. But in the text quoted above, it was prudently defined « like the sacrament » (42, § 3); we could already rashly think that the « like » would end up disappearing. Comparison is not proof in 42 § 1, but in 45 § 1, the comparison changed into « this fact ». What is the point of all these incoherent muddles? It is to substitute the cult of man for the cult of God in the Roman Church in Council. It is apostasy in Rome, the abomination of desolation.

« For… » what they have just said was only affirmed and not proven: if during their « earthly pilgrimage », the people of God had distributed the happy effects of « God’s love for man » in their wake and through their sole presence, it would be beautiful, if it were true. Well! They prove it to you…

§ 2 « For God’s Word, by whom all things were made (that is exactly right), was Himself made flesh so that as perfect man (this is incontestable) He might save all men and sum up all things in Himself. » These are sublime truths, which do not allow the slightest imprecision. Thus, through His sacrifice, « He saves all men » by right and superabundantly; still each individual must take measures for the right to be changed into fact, and this is the difficult passage that the text totally overlooks.

Here is another madness: « The Lord is the goal of human history, the focal point (the “Omega point” of the woolly-minded pantheist and evolutionist Teilhard) of the longings of history and of civilisation (not only is it crazy to set down history and civilisation, which are nothing but great and muddled abstractions, but it is also wrong to imagine that all the longings of billions of individuals converge towards a point that is a man, even if this man is the Lord), the centre of the human race, the joy of every heart and the answer to all its yearnings (is this taken from an allocution of Paul VI? This is not a reassuring guarantee for embarking on this spaceship). »

« He it is whom the Father raised from the dead (yes, good), lifted on high and stationed at His right hand, making Him Judge of the living and the dead (such a great Judge for a universal amnesty!). Enlivened and united in His Spirit (everything can be written, and the Holy Spirit is the refuge of all inconceivable theologies and mystagogies), we journey (!) toward the consummation of human history, one which fully accords with the counsel of God’s love: “To re-establish all things in Christ, both those in the heavens and those on the earth”, wrote St Paul » who is cleverly quoted here (Ep 11:10), as a proof of this astounding affirmation according to which « the consummation of human history » – so, the Second Vatican Council is already aware of it, before it has occurred! – « will fully accord with the counsel of the Lord’s love ».

It is an occult thesis, but one that is sworn to by the Gnostic sect that gathers the highest-ranking persons of the Church: Hell does not exist nor do the damned, whom God does not want to damn – nobody would know what to do with them.

Nevertheless, it is contrary to an ineradicable article of our Creed. And do not adduce a passage from St Paul’s hymn of thanksgiving to God. In his fulsome joy, Paul has no intention of distorting this article of the Faith from referring to Hell; two pages further on and ten times elsewhere, the same Apostle destroys the entire construction of the convergence of desires, etc, with these simple lines:

« Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient. So do not be associated with them. » (Ep 5:5-7)

Is it the same author or another one? Is it a relaxed manner or an ultimate snare? The last words taken from the Apocalypse reduce to nothing this huge work of adulteration of the Catholic Faith:

§ 3 « The Lord Himself speaks (and so He gives the lie to the Second Vatican Council): “Behold I come quickly! And My reward is with Me, to render to each one according to his works (may the workers of the Council think seriously about it, for the Hour is approaching!). I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End” (Ap 22:12-13). »

It is very beautiful, and there is nothing that can be objected because the Last Judgement is mentioned in clear terms. Yet, almost everywhere else in this Council the crimes of wicked or corrupt men, the Wrath of God, temporal and eternal punishments, natural catastrophes, and spiritual tragedies are passed over in silence or put aside like the props of a popular theatre, denied straight out, and replaced by chimeras. Given all this, the Council, and here I use an authoritarian tone, owed it to the One who will judge them to quote, while they are at it, the few verses that precede and follow, that serve as a showcase, or a setting for this royal diamond. Here is this splendour, followed by an opportune warning:

« The appointed time is near. Let the wicked still act wickedly, and the filthy still be filthy. The righteous must still do right, and the holy still be holy. “Behold, I am coming soon. I bring with Me the recompense I will give to each according to his deeds. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End”. Blessed are they who wash their robes so as to have the right to the Tree of Life and enter the City through its Gate. Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the unchaste, the murderers, the idol-worshipers, and all who love and practice deceit. » (Ap 22:10-15)

It is true that this chapter is unknown to the Council, apart from the quotation of the lone verses 12-13. This jewel is wrenched from its setting, its truth is watered down. It is quite true that a light only has allure and appeal when it is surrounded by more sombre shadows, and the Heaven promised us only has sweetness, magnificence, and joy in contrast with the Hell with which the damned are threatened.

So, why does this Manichean Council break reality into two pieces: a sombre and dramatic religion of which there will be no further question, and a prodigious idolatry that it celebrates as did the Hebrew people in the desert, eating, drinking, and sacrificing to the Golden Calf, to the Bull! Then they indulged in sacred prostitution under the eye of the triumphant Devil. Why? I end with the final warning of St. John himself in chapter 22, the last chapter of the last book of the Bible, the Apocalypse.

« I warn everyone who hears the prophetic words in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book! If anyone takes away from the words in this prophetic book, God will take away his share in the Tree of Life and in the Holy City described in this book. The one who gives this testimony says: “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! » (v. 18-20)
